A Real Home Environment
Boys at Care Option live in a structured, nurturing home setting — not a clinical facility. Daily routines, family-style meals, and consistent caregivers give every child the stability that's essential for growth and healing.
Care Option Residential Treatment Center provides a warm, home-like environment for boys ages 8–15, where professional care meets real childhood — school, friends, activities, and the stability every child deserves.
We believe that healing happens when children feel safe, valued, and normal. Not just cared for — but genuinely at home.

Academic progress doesn't stop. Our boys attend regular local schools, maintaining their education, peer relationships, and sense of normalcy — because a child's future matters as much as their present.
Sports, arts, field trips, life skills, and community events are woven into every week. Because being a kid matters — and no child in our care should miss out on the moments that make childhood meaningful.
Every family and agency that places a boy with us deserves to know they made the right call. Here's what makes Care Option different from every other program in Houston.
Our founder built and led a Medicare Certified healthcare agency for over 15 years. Those same clinical standards now define everything at Care Option.
We are licensed to administer medications. Strict protocols, meticulous documentation, and trained staff ensure every prescription is managed safely.
Most Houston programs start at 12 or older. We serve boys as young as 8, closing the gap that leaves younger children waiting too long for help.
Consistent staff, home-cooked meals, private bedrooms, and a familiar daily rhythm — because stability is not clinical, it's personal.
"Children heal faster when they stay connected to normal life."
Research is clear: children heal faster when they maintain connection to normal life. At Care Option, we work tirelessly to keep every boy connected to what matters — his education, his hobbies, his community, and his family.
That means our boys go to school every morning just like any other kid in the neighborhood. They play sports. They have chores. They eat together. They grow. We don't isolate healing behind walls — we let it happen in the middle of real life.
From Medicare-Certified home health expertise to Houston's most caring residential program.
Care Option Residential Treatment Center was founded by a healthcare leader with over 15 years of experience running a Medicare-certified home health agency — serving some of the most medically complex patients in the Houston area.
That experience revealed a critical gap: boys as young as 8 falling through the cracks of the system. Too young for most programs. Placement options running out at the exact moment they needed stability the most.
Care Option was built to be the answer to that gap — a home where a boy who feels safe, who goes to school every morning, who has someone in his corner, can actually heal. Not just survive. Thrive.
To provide a safe, nurturing, home-like environment where boys ages 8–15 receive the professional care, educational support, and normalcy activities they need to stabilize, grow, and successfully return to their families and communities.
A Houston where no child waits too long for help — and every boy who needs a safe place finds one.
Structure creates safety. Every day is intentional — and every moment is an opportunity for growth, connection, and just being a kid.
Boys start with a consistent morning routine — hygiene, a home-cooked breakfast together, and preparation for the school day. Structure here sets the tone for everything that follows.
We provide transportation to and from neighborhood schools. IEP coordination, academic support, and communication with school counselors are handled as a matter of standard care.
After school means snacks, outdoor play, organized sports, arts and crafts, and life skills activities. Every afternoon has purpose — and plenty of room to just play.
Evenings center on a shared dinner where conversation and connection happen naturally. Followed by board games, reading time, and a consistent bedtime routine that signals safety and predictability.
Weekends bring community outings, recreation programs, and carefully facilitated family visits. Boys stay connected to the world outside — because that's where they'll eventually return.
We've made the process as straightforward as possible. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way — with clarity, not paperwork overload.

We review the child's clinical history, medical records, school records, and current situation to ensure we're the right fit — and that we can provide what he needs.
We coordinate with the case worker, referring agency, or legal representative to finalize paperwork, authorizations, and transition details efficiently.
His space is prepared before he arrives. The first day is calm, unhurried, and designed to reduce anxiety. Families and case workers receive immediate contact once he's settled.

Boys see the same caregivers every day — building the trust and predictability that's essential for healing. We don't use temp agencies or contract workers.
Care Option was built by a Medicare-certified healthcare operator with over 15 years of experience. The same standards that earned federal certification now protect your child.
From the first phone call, we knew Care Option was different. Margaret personally walked us through every step, and our son came home more confident and more connected than we could have hoped. They didn't just care for him — they cared about him.
As a case worker, I've placed boys in many programs across Houston. Care Option stands out for how professionally they communicate, how proactively they document, and — most importantly — how genuinely the staff cares. I recommend them without hesitation.
My grandson had been through two other placements before Care Option. Within the first month, he was sleeping through the night, going to school every day, and actually smiling again. The consistency of the staff made all the difference.
What impressed me most was the communication. Every week I got updates about his school progress, his behavior, his mood. I never had to chase anyone for information. They treated me like a partner, not an outsider.
I've worked with residential programs across the state for 12 years. Care Option is one of the few that truly understands what 'normalcy' means. These boys aren't just housed — they're living. School, sports, chores, real life. That's rare.
